Anja's Up With the Arts Performance

The first summer activity Anja has been involved with is Up With the Arts camp through Fredericksburg Parks and Rec.  For two weeks, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday, Anja did arts and crafts projects, sang songs, went for nature hikes, and did other artsy things.  The camp ended last Friday with a performance by the campers.  Anja was in the Kindergarten group, and they did a performance titled "Under the Sea."  The kids were broken up into groups such as mermaids and sharks.  They decorated their own masks and created other costume bits (Anja was a mermaid and she had a crepe paper necklace).  The kids sang and danced to a song, and did a really great job.  It was fun to watch those little tikes perform!

See video of Anja's performance here:  Anja's summer camp performance

Mom, Dad, Jason, Elise and I all went to watch the performance.  It was at Alum Springs Park, where Anja has had her camp the past two weeks.  The park is wooded and shady and beautiful.

Elise and Anja cuddle with Grandma after Anja's performance.
