Summertime, 21st Century Style

Being a little older this summer, Elise has spent less time scheduled with camps and more time at home just hanging out.  She has been enjoying some of the great things the Internet can bring, especially You Tube videos with science experiments and recipes, and she's been experimenting on both the science and the cooking fronts.

She found a few different videos and instructions on making
different kinds of goo and slimy stuff and had fun experimenting,
sometimes adding her own ingredients to see what happened.

enjoyed very much.

Anja Hits the Hoops

Last winter, Elise and Anja played basketball for the first time, through a parks and rec program, and they both loved it.  This summer Anja participated in a week-long clinic and got to practice and improve her skills.  She had a great time, and even made it to the final round of a couple competitions on the last day.

A Scout Update

Scout has been with us almost 3 months.  She is so sweet and we love her dearly!

soaks up the love we give her.

Independence Day

We decided to celebrate a little on the 4th of July this year.  We got some sparklers to have at home, then headed downtown to watch some fireworks.

We hung out in the park before the fireworks, where the girls ran around, explored the river and indulged in festival food.

Father's Day

We had a very nice Father's Day with mom and dad at our house, eating and just hanging out.  

Anja decided to get Jason a Star Wars Lego toy
for Father's Day because, as she said, "Jason
loves Star Wars and he likes
putting Legos together."

A Girl's Happy Place

Elise takes riding lessons every weekend, as long as the weather cooperates.  She is doing really great and loves it!
